The Replacement IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) is for ASA sailors who have already qualified and obtained the IPC but have lost their physical copy of the certificate. The Replacement IPC will be a duplicate of the IPC you originally purchased. Meaning it will have the same expiration date as the original.*
If your IPC has expired, your order will be canceled and you will need to apply on the ASA website for a renewal. RENEWAL APPLICATION
*NOTE: The Replacement IPC should not be used to purchase a new IPC for those who’ve never received one before or who do not qualify for it. You may apply online on our website if you are certified up to at least the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat, 103 Coastal Cruising, 104 Bareboat Cruising courses, and are a current ASA member. IPC APPLICATION
What is the IPC?
The American Sailing IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) is a document that helps charter companies in the Mediterranean that you are bareboat competent and have the skills you need to operate a vessel on your own.
This is a document we designed specifically for charter companies in the Mediterranean as proof of bareboat competency in another format other than our log book. It's mainly meant for countries who do not accept the UNECE's ICC (International Certificate of Competency).
To qualify for our IPC you would need to be certified in up to at least ASA's 101 Basic Keelboat, 103 Coastal Cruising, and 104 Bareboat Cruising courses and be a current ASA member.
The IPC is a powerful tool that can help you charter and sail in the Mediterranean as well as some other areas that may specifically require it.
